The show is being held at 1827 217th Street, Boone, IA 50036 and tickets are $12 per day for adults and $8 per day for students aged 13-17. Kids under 12 get in free! The show hours are as follow.

Great Attendance

Thanks to all the attendees who stopped by to talk to us at the Iowa Power Farming Show last week. This show is now the 2nd largest in the US with over 500 exhibitors and more than 750 brands represented. There was a lot of excitement and attendance seemed to be up versus 2011. It looks like the economy is starting to come around and most attendees we spoke to are optimistic about the prospects of agri-business for 2012.

New Product Interest

We experienced a lot of interest in our new line of conveyors, the TC2 Conveyor Series, as well as our new Flow-Assist NH3 Application System. The Flow-Assist display with the glass panel seemed to really capture the attention of people walking by as the could look inside to see the inner workings of a well-engineered piece of equipment. Based on what we heard, we’re looking forward to a great year for these new lines as well as our traditional products. Reverse Revolution Technology (RRT) is a long-awaited transformation in grain handling. Our primary focus at Quality Plus is the condition of grain as it moves through the transfer process.  Through research, we have found that the highest quality grain is not achieved by classic transfer methods, but through counter-clockwise belt rotation.

How RRT Protects Grain Quality

Initially, grain is wisped into the bottom of the conveyor, which limits the amount of product tossed or thrown by the belt at entry.  As the grain being carried up the tube increases, a bed of product develops. The product base layer works like a system of ball-bearings along the conveying surface, virtually eliminating grain on metal contact points. By minimizing the amount of grain that actually contacts metal surfaces, we greatly increase grain quality and system efficiency.  Grain is transferred virtually damage free as it simply rolls up the tube. No pinch points exist along the route and all moving parts are protected by our comprehensive seal system.  The reduction in friction, first and foremost, preserves grain, but it also has additional benefits. Namely, it takes substantially less horsepower to transfer the same conveying footage. By decreasing horsepower demands, we also decrease initial machine cost and long-term expenses caused by torque-stress.

The RRT Process 

Primary grain movement is facilitated by cleated PVC belting (2″ high cleats, every 6″), which caps the product as it moves up the tube. The paddles grace the product base layer while running at full capacity–even above the angle of repose. By sweeping the grain along the bottome of the conveyor rather than lugging it on the topside of the belt RRT creates efficiency by reducing friction and increasing belt capacity. The inherent momentum means less required horsepower and more units per conveying inch.
