Flow Assist

Flow Assist™ NH3 Application System

Flow Assist NH3 ApplicatorWe developed the Flow Assist to help you improve the overall consistency of your anhydrous ammonia application; particularly during cold weather application. How does it work? The Flow Assist  helps maintain nurse tank head pressure during cold weather so it is similar to warm weather operation. By using compressed air to replace nurse tank pressure lost by colder air temperature and cloudy days, the Flow Assist maintains operating nurse tank pressure between 80 and 100 pounds. Maintaining nurse tank pressure is the key to moving the liquid to the applicator to prevent low flow conditions seen in cold weather application.

Customers using the Flow Assist report:

  • Increased crop yields
  • More accurate application rates
  • More consistent application rates
  • Exceptional low temperature application results

Installation and Use:

The Flow Assist applicator is a frame mounted unit with mounting brackets to attach to 4 x 4”, 6 x 4”, 6 x 6” and 7 x 7” frames. Once mounted to the frame, you can simply attach your hydraulic hoses to a dedicated set of tractor outlets.

Attach a 12 volt dc power supply to the wiring harness from your product application controller and use a boom switch circuit to control the Flow Assist system . To finalize the installation, attach the air supply hose including a break-away coupler to the Flow Assist System and it’s ready for use.

NH3 Nurse Tank ValveThe use of the Flow Assist NH3 Application System is as easy as hooking up to any nurse tank you currently use. Attach the Flow Assist air supply hose to the vapor valve of the nurse tank and you’re ready to apply anhydrous ammonia until the ground is frozen. No longer will adverse temperatures dictate your productivity. Make sure to use proper protective gear when working with anhydrous ammonia. Ask your anhydrous ammonia supplier for proper procedures for use of protective gear and attaching to liquid and vapor valves of nurse tanks.

The Flow Assist NH3 Application System should run only when applying product for the most accurate application rates.
